The Internship program at the Leelanau County Family Court consists of working directly with youth who are both formally and informally involved with the Court through a delinquency proceeding. Interns meet with the youth to monitor their progress in the specific areas they are working on. There is also work to be done with the parents or guardians of the youth, meeting with them to address issues within the household. Interns also get to be involved in Courtroom sessions, learning about how the Juvenile Court system operates, and experience how current caseworkers work with youth, assisting them in becoming more successful.
