Paddock Counseling adapts internships to the course work of our interns and where they are in their programs. We provide supervision for those in Master’s level programs on track to become a Limited License Professional Counselor (LLPC) or a Limited License Master Social Work (LLMSW). Our interns interact with and counsel clients. Our interns have an onsite supervisor to assist and advise our interns. The onsite supervisor also provides one hour of supervision a week. There is an additional hour of group supervision for interns and limited license individuals a week.
Our office is structured to give our counselors the feel of a private practice without having the isolation of working alone or the struggle of handling the administrative aspect of owning your own business. Our counseling staff is experienced and willing to offer support with questions about client contact and the field of counseling.
We have paid and unpaid internships. Paid internships are for clinical hours at $20/per client hour for their first internship or practicum semester with us and increases to $25/per client hour for their second semester internship with us.
We will reimburse for pre-approved expenses. Reimbursable expenses fall into these categories: mileage for work related functions, office supplies, therapy tools, workbooks, books, and appropriate trainings in theories the intern is interested in using as a counselor, such as play therapy or IFS or similar.
There is the possibility to move from intern to full or part-time counselor once the intern has successfully graduated and obtained their license. This opportunity is determined on a case-by-case basis and is not a guarantee.
